Significant Others: NFC Edition

With news this past week that second year Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder was dating ESPN's Samantha Steele, that got me thinking. What other NFL quarterbacks have or know a significant other in the limelight?

Let's get this thing started... NFC style!

Chicago Bears: Jay Cutler

The Story:

The quarterback and the former Laguna Beach celebrity started dating in the fall of 2010. Ever since then it's been a roller coaster of a relationship. Last year, the couple announced their engagement, only to have Cavallari back out of it at the last minute. They reconciled and since then are now once again re-engaged and welcomed their first bundle of joy on Aug. 8, 2012. Cavallari tweeted the news herself saying: "We are thrilled to welcome Camden Jack Cutler into the world... everyone is doing great!" However, since then rumors are swirling about the relationship being on the rocks again. Let's hope for the sake of their baby they both work it out. With Cutler's Chicago Bears sitting atop the NFC North division and Cavallari fully embracing her role as both a starlet and new mother who loves tweeting pictures of her child, I'm hoping they are "on" for the sake of their family. The Cavallari-Cutlers earn one hopefully optimistic Strahan.

Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo

Wife: Candice Crawford

The Story:

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback who was previously linked to Jessica Simpson in his younger days, has transitioned into married life nicely with wife Candice Crawford. Crawford, who is the sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, is a former pageant queen and news anchor. Romo proposed to Crawford on her 24th birthday in 2010, and since then the Southern royalty couple have also welcomed a son earlier this year. They seem to be in a happy, faithful relationship, and better yet, people don't blame Crawford for her husband's recent struggles on the field. I guess this means they're on the up and up in Dallas society. This Barbie and Ken couple receives one toothy-gapped Strahan.

Minnesota Vikings: Christian Ponder

The Story:

Christian Ponder and Samantha Steele met on the set of "College GameDay" several months ago, and since then they've been going strong. How do I know? Oh, just by the way Ponder gushes about Steele when he talks about her, or tweets about her. Apparently ribbing from his fellow teammates seems to have prompted Ponder to confirm their relationship. "I'm proud of the relationship," he said. "I can brag. I've got bragging rights, I believe." While the second-year wonderkid has the Vikings at 5-3, right behind Cutler's Bears, Steele can also hold her own. The 26-year-old ESPN reporter has worked her way quickly up the sports reporting world, and is now the person who people are deeming "Erin Andrews 2.0". While this relationship might be tricky because ESPN does not necessarily like its employees dating professional athletes, Steele's response to the relationship on Twitter makes me think the two will be fine. I give these two young up-and-coming sports personalities one thumbs up from Strahan.  

St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford

The Story:

First of all, I jut wanted to comment on Sam Bradford's outfit. As a NFL quarterback who was drafted first overall in 2010 to the St. Louis Rams, you'd think the 24-year-old could dress a little better, considering his "significant other" is Karlie Kloss, one of the top up and coming models. To steal a line from ESPN, C'mon Man! Regardless of his attire, the two met at Coachella earlier this year... which seems to be a breeding ground for couples, just ask Aaron Paul and his fiancee Lauren. Regardless, while Kloss is still pretty young... they met when she was just 19, the two both reside in St. Louis, and it seems both have the same interests in music and sports. However, the one caveat in this "relationship" is that while it is pretty obvious both of them are dating, neither of them has confirmed their involvement yet. Just admit it already! I offer them one annoyed, yet curious McKayla.
